Description
Court marriage between a Nepali citizen and a foreign national is legally recognized in Nepal under the National Civil Code, provided both parties meet the legal requirements and freely consent to the marriage. If all required documents are complete, the process can usually be completed within 2–7 working days, depending on document verification and court procedures.
Required Documents:
- Nepali Citizenship Certificate of the Nepali citizen
- Valid passport and visa of the foreign national
- No Objection/Single Status Certificate issued by the foreigner's embassy or competent authority
- Temporary residence or migration registration (where applicable)
- Four recent passport-size photographs of both parties
- Two adult witnesses with valid identification
- Joint application for court marriage
- Certified Nepali translation of foreign documents, if required
