Kathmandu, Jestha 5 - वर्षमान पुन (Barshaman Pun), leader of the नेपाल कम्युनिस्ट पार्टी (नेकपा), has demanded that the parliamentary hearing of proposed Chief Justice Dr. मनोज कुमार शर्मा (Manoj Kumar Sharma) be postponed by one day.
Speaking during today’s meeting of the संसदीय सुनुवाइ समिति (Parliamentary Hearing Committee), Pun said lawmakers should be given enough time to properly study the complaints filed against Sharma as well as his कार्ययोजना (work plan) before proceeding with the hearing.
The committee had originally planned to conduct Sharma’s hearing today. During the meeting, members were provided with १६ वटा उजुरी (16 complaints) filed against Sharma along with his proposed action plan.
Pun stated, “आज मज्जाले अध्ययन गरौं, and let the hearing begin from tomorrow morning.” He added that since approval only requires a majority vote, postponing the process by one day would not create any issue and would instead ensure that the प्रक्रिया (process) appears complete and transparent.
He further remarked that the outcome of the hearing was already predictable, making it important for the parliamentary procedure to be carried out properly.
Pun also noted that lawmakers are currently busy with प्रि-बजेट छलफल (pre-budget discussions) in Parliament, which is why he requested that the hearing be held tomorrow instead.
